We’re looking for an Underwriting Specialist – Insurance Agents and Brokers in New York right now.

How You Will Make a Difference
Underwrite successful new and renewed business to meet area Line of Business (LoB) goals, following the rules and permission for underwriting.

Some specific things you might have to do are:

  • Take part in creating and implementing the regional underwriting strategy for the LoB(s), and work closely with Market Management, Claims, and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, such as cross-selling.
  • Write new and renewing accounts to meet goals for both the top and bottom lines.
  • Talk to makers about price and terms and conditions.
  • Follow the Financial Lines control structure when underwriting, such as the Underwriting Authorities, the global MSU, and the Underwriting Guidelines, Rules, and Principles.
  • Help get policy management and credit control tasks done on time.
  • Help create and carry out the regional underwriting plan for LoB on a regional level.
  • Training, growing, and coaching workers with less experience, such as underwriters
  • Support the acquisition of new business and the preservation of current business (including, if necessary, negotiating with clients and producers).
  • Build and keep strong ties with important clients, traders, and other partners (like risk managers) who matter.

What You Can Bring to the Job

  • 5-7 years of experience underwriting business in LoB that makes money. Understanding of sub-LoB goods and range by experts
  • 5 to 7 years of experience with well-known ties with agents at the peer group level and a strong presence in the market
  • 5 to 7 years of experience with a deep know
  • ledge of local and regional LOB insurance markets and the competition, including global factors
  • 5-7 years of experience and a good grasp of the law and regulatory environment
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a global, complicated matrix company
  • Having a college degree, ideally in business administration, finance, economics, or insurance management
    Getting a skilled insurance license, like CII,

The base pay range for this job is $134,147 to $229,966 per year. The range of yearly base salaries is the market range for the whole country. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. For AzC employees, base pay is only one part of their overall pay. As part of our competitive pay and top-notch benefits packages, workers can also get cash bonuses every year based on how well they do their jobs.
