About the Role

The Personal Lines Sales Agent generates new business and maintains relationships with clients in the personal insurance market. This role provides tailored insurance solutions for clients’ needs, including auto, home, renters, umbrellas, and other personal insurance products. The agent serves as clients’ primary point of contact, ensuring exceptional service, expert guidance, and seamless policy management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Client Acquisition:

  • Respond to all generated leads.
  • Outbound calling/sourcing of leads.
  • Assess potential clients’ insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options.
  • Develop personalized quotes and present them to clients clearly and professionally.
  • Close sales and ensure smooth onboarding for new clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure retention and satisfaction.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of clients’ insurance needs to offer updated or additional coverage.
  • Provide ongoing support for policy changes, claims, and renewals.

Product Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Stay updated with personal insurance products, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Explain coverage details, policy features, and exclusions to clients.
  • Educate clients on the value and importance of appropriate coverage.

Administrative Duties:

  • Accurately input and maintain client information in the agency’s management system.
  • Prepare and process insurance applications, endorsements, and renewals.
  • Handle billing inquiries and resolve client issues promptly.

  • Strong understanding of personal lines insurance products such as auto, home, renters, and umbrella policies.
  • Ability to explain complex insurance concepts in simple terms to clients.

Education

  • Experience meeting or exceeding sales targets or quotas.

Certificates, License, and or Specialized Requirements

  • An active state insurance license in personal lines is required.
