SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The Insurance Sales Agent makes direct sales calls every day, as well as answering incoming sales calls and requests and responding to web leads. This job goes to the Sales Team Lead and gives insurance quotes to people who might become new customers through the many top companies that HFA works with.
WHAT THE JOB DOES
- People who want to buy and lend money
- It’s the main person that potential sellers and loans can talk to.
- Makes direct calls to possible buyers, talks to them, and finds out what they need so they can be qualified and make a sale.
- Takes calls, makes prices, and signs off on them that come from sales calls.
- Keeps track of the follow-up bucket to keep driving the sales process and closes out sales that have been made.
- Uses the HomeFirst Agency website to get prices so that they can prepare emails for possible customers who want quotes.
- Talks to Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance Inc. and other outside lenders to make the process easier after the sale.
Looks at policies and approves them
Underwrites plans in a way that is fair and objective, which protects the company and gives people the right amount of coverage.
During the insurance buy, makes sure that all rules about advertising, company policies, and best practices in the business are followed.
collects and keeps records, files, and other insurance proofs like evaluations and pictures.
Keeps organized copies of sales forms, letters, and other related papers.
Knows about the different insurance goods that are out there.
Sales Minded and Working Together
Maintains good ties with clients, referral partners, and other important people in order to get return business and recommendations.
Takes part in relationship-building and networking events to grow the company’s network, find new business possibilities, and produce leads.
builds partnerships in order to market and support the Silverton Mortgage/Clayton Building Group Program.
Sets monthly sales goals for each person to keep them motivated and increase sales.
Works together with Silverton Mortgage’s operators and loan officers to market HomeFirst goods.
Works with the Service department to spread the word about the current program for getting customers to refer others.
Effectively talks to and connects with both internal and external people by phone, email, and text.
Distributes and works well with different lead buckets in a team setting.
Makes sure that insurance application forms are followed up on.
Takes care of current auto insurance.

DESCRIPTION OF NEEDS AND QUALIFICATIONS
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Education: At least a high school education is required, and college is recommended.
Experience: Must have worked in sales for at least one to two years.
It is best to have a current TN Property and Casualty License. If they don’t already have a license, they must get one within 90 days of being hired. It’s also necessary to keep learning.
You need to be very good with computers and know how to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to speak easily with customers, coworkers, and bosses, breaking down complicated ideas and answering a wide range of possible customers’ questions.
Must be able to do many things at once, be great at managing their time, be independent, and be able to work with little to no direction.
Clear speaking, creative talk, sensitive and active listening, and logical and critical thinking are all skills that can help with outbound sales, cold calling, and phone marketing.
Underwriting for plans that are going to be given should be finished. To do this, you need to be able to think deeply and use deduction.
Adaptable and able to change. An agent needs to be able to see problems coming and quickly come up with answers.
Always knows a lot about the rules and laws at the state and federal levels.
Being able to correctly gather facts, figure out what caused something, look at different possible answers, and come to a good decision about what to do next.
Strong sense of time and follow through.
Being able to work with other people.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
You have to be able to stay still 75% of the time.
Will be in charge of a computer and other office equipment all the time, like a phone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Will talk on the phone, through Teams, and through Zoom.
Always need to be able to share correct information.
Must be able to find and evaluate account state and figure out the right way to proceed.
The person in this position will always work in a modern, temperature-controlled, covered window office inside.
