Payment: $66,000 at plan fee

Responsibilities:

  • Make sure there are correct copies of all necessary accounting, client, and sales reports so that you can keep track of and share the progress of goals.
  • Keep up with any changes to the insurance company’s rules or policies so that you can make the right insurance plans for current and potential clients.
  • Make risk management plans for each customer to make sure that their insurance needs are always met.
  • Keep track of your current customers and try to sell insurance to new people by using sales techniques like cold calling and networking.
  • As a careful listener, you should talk to new and possible clients to fully understand their individual wants before attempting to make insurance sales.

Required skills:

  • Willing to work in the insurance business and learn about the state and federal rules that apply to it
    Candidates must have some computer knowledge and know how to use Microsoft Office products well.
  • Needs to have strong logical, communication, and people skills; Being good at customer service is a plus.
  • It helps to have a basic knowledge of sales lead or financial tools.
  • You must have a high school education, and a college degree is preferred.
  • Must be able to talk to people well and describe complicated insurance plans to them.

About the Business

An insurance company was started by a group of farmers and herders in Idaho on May 1, 1947. The idea behind this business was that people should help each other. We have built a culture around the customer, which has helped us get better through decades of change.

In the beginning, when we were just starting out, our Pocatello office only sold car insurance. People who worked for and with the company after the founders did so by following their views. This is now the biggest insurance company in Idaho and the largest seller of farm and property insurance in the state.

It wasn’t until 2024 that Western Community Insurance – Farm Bureau Mutual began selling insurance in this state.
