We need an Insurance Agent to make sure that our members have a great experience. As an insurance agent, your job is to get to know your customers and help them choose the products and services that are best for them.
As an Insurance Agent – General Sales, GTE Financial wants to hire someone who is polite, organized, and committed. The Insurance Agent – General Sales’ main job is to sell things for the insurance company. The job meets our clients’ insurance needs by teaching, quoting, selling, and serving plans in a way that follows the rules set by the insurance state.

What does GTE want in an insurance agent?
Getting insurance:

  • Gets information over the phone or in person to figure out what people need and then matches those needs with goods that are available.
  • Talks to customers, insurance companies, and other financial institutions in person, over the phone, through the mail, by fax, email, or mail.
  • Writes up new rules and scans and uploads papers to the agency’s management system.
  • Takes care of change request approvals, claims handling, and confirming coverage to loss payees.
  • Takes care of questions from members about bills, refunds, and reinstatements.
  • Makes rules for checking extensions and recommendations and looks them over as needed.
  • Keeps up with policies, such as payments, car checks, and pictures of homeowners.

Experience as a Member:

  • Shows a strong aptitude for both large-scale speaking and one-on-one conversations.
  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities, as well as the ability to get along with others, are needed to work well with coworkers, clients, bosses, members, and suppliers.
  • Takes part in and adds to a good teamwork setting that encourages dedication to company, division, and staff goals.

Operational:

  • Gets replies ready to send by mail.
  • Keeps company guides up to date by adding changes that come in.
  • brings the latest changes to the company’s insurance guides and computer files as they come in from the supervisor.
  • Takes in money and looks over new rules.
  • Expected to travel often for conferences, meetings, networking events, and other events that help them build the ties that are needed in the business insurance field.
  • You need to show that you know how to follow the Bank Secrecy Act and other Federal laws, such as the U.S. Patriot Act, the Office of Foreign Assets and Control, the Anti-Money Laundering Act, the Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • English and Spanish bilingual recommended.
  • A high school education or the equivalent is required. Some schools liked it better.
  • Property and Casualty 2-20 and maintaining a certain level of schooling.
  • Must have at least three years of experience or a mix of schooling and training.

Details about the job:

Downtown Tampa is where the GTE headquarters department is located. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Full-time hours are needed, plus as many extra hours as are needed to reach targets, goals, and projects.
Work arrangements (in-office, mixed, or online) can be changed at any time by management, as long as they give enough notice.
For remote or hybrid work, you need a quiet place to work so you can focus on giving our users great service.

Must live in a place where high-speed internet service is already available.
Upload speed must be at least 5 MB/s, and 25 MB/s is best.
Download speed must be at least 25 MB/s, and 50 MB/s is best.
All technical standards must be met by candidates before the first day of training.
Candidates who live in hybrids must live within driving distance of the office and be able to regularly get to and from work as needed.
