A business that was made to help you. It’s your job, so keep it safe!
We want a great businessperson to join our team and make a difference in Columbus, NE as our new Shelter Insurance Agent.
- Do you want to make new friends, meet new people, and become known in your community?
- Do you really want to help the people around you?
- Do you want to get better at business, sales, and networking?
- Would you like to love what you do and do what you love?
- Do you want to be in charge of your own money?
- Did you want to start your own business but couldn’t because it would cost too much?
These questions were meant to make you think. If you said “yes,” you should find out more about becoming a Shelter Insurance® Agent.
At Shelter, we don’t need people who have worked in the insurance business before. You don’t have to have skills, but it might help. About half of our new Shelter Agents have never worked in insurance before. They come from a wide range of fields, such as teaching and coaching, real estate, and retail sales.
What needs to be done? A drive to succeed, an interest in starting your own business, and the ability to talk to customers clearly in a sales setting.
Some sales experience and a degree with basic business classes are good, but our mix of in-person and online training schools for new agents, along with ongoing courses in the field, helps you build the skills you need to start your own agency.
At Shelter, potential workers don’t need to have money or assets on hand in order to be considered for a job. When managers want to start their own business, Shelter does not “sell” them or “loan” them money. We give you the chance. All that is expected of you is that you meet the sales standards and have core business skills. If you quit as a Shelter worker for any reason, the only bills you have to pay are the ones that were still unpaid when you left. This could include things like phone bills, advertising contracts, and utility bills.
To succeed, you need to think like a real business owner! Your main job will be to find new customers and sell Shelter goods in your business. However, you might also be able to hire people to help you with general office work and making more sales.
If you really want to own your own business, really want to help people, and really want to work for a company that wants to be a leader in its communities, then you should start looking into partnering with Shelter Insurance Companies. Shelter has one of the best new-agent programs in the insurance business. If you are willing to put in the work, we can help you start a job in insurance sales.
