You can become an Insurance Agent at Dupaco Community Credit Union and be a part of our growing team. Above and beyond these core beliefs, the Insurance Agent’s job is to protect both new and established clients by recommending and quoting the right insurance coverage and building partnerships with them.

What You’re Going to Do:

  • You can get new clients in a number of ways, such as through an internal cross-selling system, networking, and client recommendations.
  • Help with managing insurance quotes and taking care of complicated insurance situations (like having more than one line of coverage).
  • Build ties with and educate different areas within the credit union to get more good insurance recommendations.
  • Make sure the development goes according to the insurer’s suggestions and gives clients enough choices to meet their insurance needs in an affordable way.
  • Meet with clients to go over coverage and endorsement choices, suggest the right amount of coverage, and write plans based on what they decide.
  • Keep current customers coming back and get more by using a variety of networking and sales techniques, such as meeting new people and networking with possible customers to talk about the company’s new goods and competitive advantages.
  • Stay up-to-date on all insurance coverage rules, the insurance industry as a whole, rules, and relevant laws to make sure that customers understand their coverage terms and insurance services, and to make sure that you are following all relevant legal and industry rules and requirements.
  • Give potential and current customers a lot of human attention by visiting them in person to follow up as needed and teaching management on business insurance policy choices when they ask.
  • Create and show risk management surveys to help clients learn how to avoid and reduce claims, talk to clients about possible claims, and work toward a quick and fair claim payment.
  • Help with ongoing account maintenance for clients by keeping them updated about all insurance-related issues, such as reviewing policies to make sure the recommended coverage is still right.
  • Keep an eye on and uphold standards for customer service to keep customers happy and coming back.

Things you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar area or at least two years of experience working in the insurance business
    At least one year of work as an insurance servicer or agent is ideal.
  • Get and keep a license or other title that is specific to insurance (CIC, CISR, etc.).
  • Very good at listening, speaking, writing, and giving presentations.
  • The ability to set priorities, plan your time, and work alone.
  • Very good computer skills
  • Any information about the credit union must be kept secret.

1 year(s) of experience is preferred.

• Having worked as an insurance servicer or salesman for at least a year is desirable.

• Get and keep a license or other title that is specific to insurance (CIC, CISR, etc.).
