Agents for State Farm are self-employed and hire their own staff. Agents who work for State Farm do not work for State Farm Insurance Companies. It’s not with State Farm Insurance Companies; the job is with a State Farm independent contractor salesman. The agents at State Farm decide which training programs and license requirements are available to their workers and which ones they must successfully finish. If you agree to work for a State Farm agent and/or complete any licensing or training programs that the agent requires, you are not guaranteed, promised, or given any kind of selection preference if you later decide to leave the agent’s job and become an independent contractor agent for State Farm Insurance Companies. If you want to work as an agent, you will have to apply and go through the normal process that State Farm Insurance Companies uses to choose agents.
